Firenze Fiera’s Ambassadors Honoured with the Florence Ambassador Awards inside the Salone dei Cinquecento

Florence, 15th October 2021. Yesterday afternoon, inside the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, the fifth edition of the Florence Ambassador Award took place – an award programme promoted by the Florence Municipality, Destination Florence Convention & Visitors Bureau, Firenze Fiera, and the Chamber of Commerce of Florence, acknowledging academic, cultural, and professional figures who helped to promote the image and the centrality of Florence in the events and meeting industry.

On behalf of Firenze Fiera, this prestigious award was presented to Francesco Prati, President of Centro per la lotta contro l’infarto (Heart Attack Centre – NPO) for the congress “Conoscere e curare il cuore” (Preventing & Treating Your Heart Condition); Anna Paola Concia, Coordinator of the Organising Committee of Didacta Italy Fair; Sergio Serni and Vincenzo Li Marzi, Co-Presidents of the SIUD Congress (Italian Society of Urodynamics); Federico Chiesi, President of Sicrea and Mauro Grassi, Director of Earth Technology Expo; Andrea Riccardo Genazzani, President of the ISGE Congress (International Society of Gynaecological Endocrinology), scheduled for May 2022.

All the 33 award-winners received a special gift from Firenze Fiera – a copy of “Dante scopre l’Europa. La geografia europea nella Commedia” (Dante Discovers Europe. European Geography in the Divine Comedy), a book ideated by our President Lorenzo Becattini, with a preface by David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament, and created by Firenze Fiera for the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri.

“Firenze has always been the capital of knowledge, training, and savoir-faire; and it has a natural vocation for the congress sector – stated Firenze Fiera’s President Lorenzo Becattini –, as witnessed by the 11 international congresses secured by the city between these last months until 2027, thanks to an excellent teamwork carried out by Firenze Convention Bureau and Firenze Fiera with local industries. I would like to thank the Convention Bureau and all the Ambassadors for all they have done and will do to bring up the name of Florence all over the world as the city of culture and innovation”.
